The PROCAES team – given the comprehensive, dynamic, and complex nature of strategic issues and the field of International Strategic Studies – is composed of specialists from various areas of knowledge and practice, forming an interdisciplinary team.
Below, meet the members, their roles, and activities.
Historian (graduate and professor) from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, where he also studied Economic Sciences; master’s degree in International Studies at the University of Chile. Certified in the following areas: Combat Simulations by the Nucleus of Strategic Studies/SMC/BA; Defense Strategy by the Defense Ministry of Brazil; and, Strategy and Foresight by ECLAC/United Nations.
For 23 years he has been dedicated to the study and monitoring of national and international political processes, and of them, 19 to strategic studies. He belongs to the technical staff of the State University of Santa Catarina 14 years ago. Creator and coordinator of the Program for the Development of Strategic Capacities.
Geographer (UDESC) and historian (UFSC), with a Ph.D. in Human Geography from the University of São Paulo (USP), a Master’s in History (UFSC), and a Master’s in Rural Development from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS).
He has been working for 10 years as a university professor, of which six years have been as an associate professor in the Department of Geography at UDESC.
Mechanical engineer, holding a Ph.D. in Design and Society from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) and a Master’s in Environmental Engineering (UFSC).
He has been an associate professor for 25 years in the Department of Design at UDESC and is also a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Program in Territorial Planning and Socio-Environmental Development – PPGPLAN/FAED/UDESC. He engages in research, outreach, and teaching projects focusing on themes related to traditional communities, handicrafts, social movements, traditional technologies, social technologies, drawing, geometry, social mapping, and territorial planning.
Biologist from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP). Master’s in Agroecosystems from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). Certified in organic agricultural production inspection (Ecocert Brazil).
She has worked for many years in the fields of education and rural development, rural extension, family farming, and agroecology. For the past 9 years, she has served as an environmental analyst at the Municipal Foundation for the Environment of Florianópolis (FLORAM) and has been the president of the Association of Urban Planning and Environmental Workers of Florianópolis (ASUMA) for the last 4 years.
Computer scientist from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), currently pursuing a Master’s in Information Science at UDESC. He researches topics related to Artificial Intelligence. He is a programmer and has been a systems analyst at UDESC for 17 years.
Pedagogue from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC).
For 15 years, he has been working at the intersection of education sciences and technology. He is a game developer and has been active in the municipal public education system of Florianópolis for the past 10 years.
Photographer for more than 40 years and geographer by the State University of Santa Catarina.
For 21 years he has been a photography technician in the Visual Arts Department of UDESC. Member of the Cloud Appreciation Society since 2014, with photos published on the Association’s website and book.
